On January 12, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Burkina Faso Lu Shan, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Environment, Water Resources and Sanitation Roger Barrow, and Chairman of the Special Delegation of Ouagadougou City Maurice Konate attended the handover ceremony of the Ouagadougou Green Belt Irrigation Project. More than 100 local traditional leaders and people attended the event.

The space consists of “one (01) borehole equipped with a hybrid submersible pump, a 12 m high metal water tower with a capacity of 30 cubic meters (m3), a solar power supply system, and a tap water irrigation system”. The system of the water supply network covering an area of ​​4 hectares.

The project will provide a stable and long-term irrigation water source for 4 hectares of land, playing a positive role in improving the factory environment, promoting agricultural development and creating local jobs.
